reopens

bonju

Drawing class. We have to do this same bust next week. 2 weeks for one single drawing? Pressure. Raymond is a fun chap. Gives very good advice and encouragement. Says "just draw what you see. Feel the line and the curve as you draw, feel as if youre the model, how twisted the body is..and you could be the panda, could be the bear, could be some other person it don't matter." Haha. But seriously he's nice. Says to squint abit if you can't see the contrast and the light and dark parts. It really works! Good stuff. I'm not a Geeky Butthole.

"Hello my name is Mr Chandran.."

Then we had a 'meet and greet' session with our new HOD Mr Chandran. Chandransekaran I think. Meh, don't remember. But honestly speaking, he looks like Beast from Xmen, cept with the balding patch on top.

differences

You are the expansive colours of the multiverse.
I favour the Black, the White and everything in between.

It's all about skies, nature and the rustic for you.
And the modern, the straightness for me.

The curve
The straight line

Mellow
Metal

Nerd
Geek

Look at all our differences. But,
13November December January February March April May June 13July
and oh look, that's 8months.

i bet you highlighted this. i love you

what's jamming?

Jammed with the guys today at some jamming place called Stone Jamz. Yeah with the z at the back. It's somewhere off Clarke Quay at the shophouses there. So there was me, Ian, Desmond, Sharmen, Toon and Julie =D Ian and Toon came late. The guitar amps were noisy. The drums..they were passable but still better than my stock Pearl at home. We had a lot of fun man, like singing randomly, Ian doing crazy dancing and it all ended with me and Desmond just jamming it out drums and guitar. Thanks all for coming. We jam again soon.

So this morning I was by myself at Raffles City mac eating big breakfast (it's been a long while) waiting for Shu Anne and her filming people. Supposed to help her with this video thing. Well basically I is the main actor character. They're supposed to do this video about a person with some interesting hobby thing. So art was the hobby la. More than a hobby actually but nevermind. I had to do some crazy shots, like I was supposed to act like I was inspired and then suddenly walk away. So weird. But I had fun so it's ok.

School's starting in two weeks.

fiorentina

What's up with Florence? Let's see if I can recall.

We arrived by train at night, took the taxi to Sette Santi Hostel. Clause (Keng Beng's nephew) didn't realise that in Europe the driver sits on the RIGHT side of the car. So he actually wanted to drive us there, if you catch my drift.

Sette Santi is very nice. I bunked with Wenfeng and Jianwei in this luxuriously spacious hostel room fully equipped with a very nice view and a bathroom sink minus the bathroom. For the 4 days we spent there the sink became our best friend. We had to use a communal bath and toilet. Initially we had this smaller room with 5 bunkbeads AND a working toilet but Rina insisted they changed rooms with us because there were more girls than guys and it made more sense that 6 girls should bunk there rather than 3 guys. But the real reason is that there was a cockroach in her room(which then became our room but no problem for us cause we caught the bugger and killed it). The open window provided not only mosquitoes but instant ventilation and aircon, considering the air in Florence is also cold but not as dry. Breakfast was only limited to cornflakes and bread + jam. The coffee was super bitter.

The last night in the hostel there was a power shortage (not uncommon in europe) but equipped with our torchlights and handphones, we had a good time in moi's hostel room (because it was the most largest and spacious and windiest and it had a sink) playing hard attack and cards and shit. And almost all of us had sore hands from hard attack. Poor poor Rina.

So there is alot to see in Florence, apart from all the frequent visits to the ice cream parlours located almost 5metres apart from each other. The Ufizzi museum was very good, because we got to see tons of stuff like that Creation of Venus (for those non-art people, its that chick that's standing in a clam shell covering her bits with her hands and hair) there was Leonardo and stuff. Basically whatever that was taught in Art History, if you were paying any attention and not sleeping, it's almost all there. I think the best part was Caravaggio. We didn't get to see David in the Academie because we kinda didn't have enough euros.

So apart from that Florence is quite relaxed. Alot of walking and exploring. The food was ok. We kinda got used to the concept that there is very little rice. Only pasta and bread and meat. But on the last day we had this amazing meal at this restaurant just behind the Ufizzi with NO cover charge.

And that's all I can remember about Florence.
