part one - rome

abit before i go cut my hair

So after 12+ hours of flying, we finally reached the Leonardo Da Vinci airport(no bullshit) in Rome. The we cabbed to the hotel. First thing, European traffic - very fast, very cramped. Second thing - European bikes - damn nice.

The hotel is very nice. Like some country getaway. We were in some town (can't remember the name) so it was very peaceful and quiet. Shared the room with Izwan from year2 photography. The air was very dry and get this, whenever you stand in the shade, it's very cold but whenever you're out in the sun, it's an oven just like in Singapore.

In Milan we visited the Vatican city - Museum and where the Pope supposedly lives (i dont remember). The museum is where we got to see all the sculptures lined up in one very very huge hallway. Kind of like a supermarket aisle of sculptures. Then we got to so the Sistine Chapel (sixteenchapters) the Michelangelo God Adam thing Raphael Plato and Aristotle thing. An hour of straining your neck up to look at the fantabulous paintings. Paintings of sculptures that are almost 3D. Trust me when you're there you can't differentiate between sculpture and painting. OK now the building where the pope supposedly lives (i googled it) is called St Peter's Basillica and it is HOLY SMOKES. You can't even comprehend how huge it is and how tiny and insignificant you are when you're inside (this can be said with all other large churches and stuff in europe) Jut our luck we had this beams of light surging into the aisles as we entered. No drama needed. It's all there.

Our next stop is the Colosseum and some ruins which I can't remember. Colosseum - nothing much. See the previous pictures in the previous post. It's very very big. Colossal (no pun intended) Like they should turn it into some football field. The ruins however proved to be more interesting. They included the house of some Roman big shot that died years ago. OH wait, that big shot was one of the Roman emperors. Apart from that, walking walking and more walking. In fact this day was the day me and Jianwei missed the early bus and had to travel there on our own. We rendezvous with the main group at the Colosseum.

And that was Rome for you. Didn't even get to see the ACS Roma stadium.

Bastard sia Stuart Pierce. Bastard sia England under 21. Hahahaha. Well you're wondering why I'm saying this. It's simple.

timecheck - 4:06
My late-night-holiday curse kicks in and I happen to chance upon England against Azerbaijan (U21)
its 75minutes into the match and England are leading 6-0. And what did they do?

they send in a goalkeeper...

...to play as a striker.

Bastard sia they all. HAHAHAHA. Like that isn't in-your-face enough to Azerbaijan.

more experiments!

The Da Vinci thing wasn't that nice. It was ok la to be honest. On the other hand, the science centre exhibits were fun. Yes, I survived 3.5 million megawatts how cool is that?
